Conservation Awareness Day – 12th May 2024

Meet people from local conservation groups at Buckler’s Hard as Conservation Awareness Day returns to the historic village on the banks of the Beaulieu River on Sunday 12th May.

Visitors to the village can discover how they can protect the environment with fun activities and informative displays.

Meet and chat with local organisations that are taking part including the RSPB, New Forest National Park, Wildlife Trust, Country Watch, Bird Aware Solent, Natural England, Maritime Archaeology Trust and many more.

Entry for Conservation Awareness Day in the Village village is free! Explore captivating displays and engaging activities from 10am to 3:30pm. A small parking charge applies for those visiting by car.

Ever heard of a flea circus? Well, how about a bee circus? Dr. Albinele presents his Buzztastic Bee-Balancing Blundershow and travelling hive at the event. Experience the waggle dance, participate in sticky ball pollination, and keep an eye out for the exterminator, all while uncovering the vital role of bees!
We’ll also be joined by the following conservation groups:

  • The RSPB
  • Pondhead Conservation Trust
  • The Countryside Education Trust
  • Bird Solent Aware
  • British Divers Marine Life Rescue
  • Hampshire Police Countrywatch
  • Freshwater Habitats

Plus much more!
