With the Solent Way footpath running through the village, Buckler’s Hard is a perfect destination for walkers and cyclists alike, just a gentle 2¼ mile walk or cycle from Beaulieu. For those arriving by vehicle, a parking charge applies, which helps to maintain this heritage site.

Buckler’s Hard is steeped in history! You can discover more about the maritime history of the village by dropping into the Buckler’s Hard Museum – which celebrates its 60th anniversary this year. Plus, running throughout the summer until 29th October, the River Cruise is a must-see extra to your visit. Sail away as you cruise peacefully down the Beaulieu River. Spot waders and wildfowl and even a seal, if you’re lucky! A small admission charge applies for the Buckler’s Hard Museum or River Cruise.
Feeling peckish? Stop by the Captain’s Table and tuck into a tasty lunch or sumptuous New Forest ice cream during your visit. No matter if you’re settling down for a full-cooked breakfast popping in for a cream tea and a hot drink, or just after a light bite on the go, the Captain’s Table is open daily from 9am.

Buckler’s Hard is accessible by foot, car, bike – or boat! The grounds of Buckler’s Hard village are free for everyone to visit. For those arriving by car, a parking charge applies to contribute to the upkeep of the historic village.
